January 16
This day, WAKEN was a 1 year-old birthday. Because hardly he did an injury and sickness for this 1 year, we are very glad. We presented the spoon and fork to him. He was grasping tightly them to seem joyful. He will be able to eat a meal alone soon.

WAKEN likes very much to play with sand! He is playing alone as long as he likes, when he goes to a beach. This day, he went to the TASHIRO-HAMA (beach). He does frequently the motions that sees our face and closes both eyes a moment and does smile.
　 　
February 9
This day, we went to the TAIKO-IWA (rock) with friends. The day was the fine weather. Therefore we were able to look at Mt. MIYANOURA-DAKE well. We walked the mountain path of soft deep snow. However, we forgot fatigue to the beauty of the view from the TAIKO-IWA.
　 　
February 26
WAKEN sometimes became able to stand barely. Because he is unstable yet he has sat right away. However, he becomes able to walk soon. Therefore we must be careful more.

We put the mirror at the center of the room. WAKEN looked in the mirror and was laughing happily. "Hello mirror, who is the prettiest in the world?"

WAKEN became able to walk a few step barely. When he walks, surrounding people give applause. Then, he imitates it, too.

Many bamboo shoots have grown in the bamboo grove before our residence. We received it from the landowner and ate deliciously. We hope that WAKEN grows rapidly like a bamboo shoot.

WAKEN became able to have a meal that sits down to a chair. However, he sometimes is using a chair as a rostrum. As for he the appetite became flourishing recently. He did so that spoon that we submitted is taken and ate food.

It is best to play in a water in a hot day! WAKEN was excited cheerfully in the pool of a stone.

WAKEN became able to ascend and descend of the stairs. He became good and repeated it many times. However, we are worried about whether or not he does not fall from the stairs.

Although rain continued for a while, this day became midsummer weather. We did river play satisfactorily in the MIYANOURA-GAWA (river). However, as for there, there were many quantities of water than usually. Therefore we played in a safe place preferably.

WAKEN was interesting and saw the banana that became for the first time at side of our residence. He wants to touch anything because he is flourishing curiosity. Also he observes our action carefully and does imitation frequently.

WAKEN became able to assist us a little recently. For example, he brings the diaper of a self and also carries a tableware and also wipes a table.

We went to shopping to a nearby store. WAKEN likes cold beer and does not try to separate readily. Does he become an in the future heavy drinker!? (^_^;

WAKEN likes the kennel very much! He plays in the kennel with HANA and Bough of dogs. The beginning, dogs were barking at him. However, dogs give up it recently and obeying him.

This day, we made an excursion in the beach of KURIO. Yet the sea is warm, water temperature was 75.2 degrees F. WAKEN studied the usage of a mask and snorkel. Does he become an excellent diver in the future?
