WAKEN went out for the first time. We went to the mountain and did a greeting to a god. As for in the place of over 3280 feet of height above sea level of a mountain many snow was accumulating. DAIZEN took a photograph of WAKEN & KAORI That is next to a snowman.

WAKEN's face is like a monkey. Because almost he is sleeping we are difficult to shoot his photograph that is awake.

We went near Mt. KUROMI-DAKE to see the flower of an alpine rose. We had a rest with the midway, a dry riverbed of the course.

We did mountain climbing with friends that sees JOHMON-SUGI (Japanese cedar). WAKEN & KAORI saw JOHMON-SUGI for the first time.

WAKEN got on to a ship for the first time and went out to KAGOSHIMA-SHI. He became the skin of light-brown completely with the sunlight in summer. As for this photograph he is becoming a good mood in the room of a noodle shop. We bought the digital camera at this time.

WAKEN likes MIMI of a black cat. For him MIMI is the toy that moves. However, WAKEN is very troublesome, because he pulls MIMI's ear and tail.

WAKEN's grandmother and cousin came from Tokyo. This photograph is under the big GAJUMARU (banyan tree) in NAKAMA.

It is very good to play in a river in the hot early afternoon in summer! We played in this day, the MIYANOURA-GAWA (river). WAKEN was the favorite of the girls who was coming to swimming.

1998 was the year when there are few typhoons. It hardly rained in the typhoon number 6 that landed on YAKUSHIMA for the first time this year. Therefore a sea breeze brought about damage to a crop. This photograph is 1 frame in front of KOSEDA fishing port, in the middle of the typhoon that is howling.

As for WAKEN the tooth of under has grown. And he has come to be eaten even the soft rice cracker. Also he has come to be able to creep. He may dive under the table and do mischief. Somehow there is the habit that he does tongue-clicking.

We went to SHIRATANI-UNSUIKYOH (ravine) with the sponsorship of KAMIYAKU town history and folk art museum. Although it was raining a little we went to TAIKO-IWA (rock) of the height above sea level of about 3280 feet. The view is good very much when the place is clear. However, the day was a fog. That's too bad. This photograph is the front of the KUGURI-SUGI (Japanese cedar) in the midway of the course.

This day, we went to NAGESI-DAIRA of the height above sea level of about 5512 feet. This day was seen Mt. MIYANOURA-DAKE and Mt. NAGATA-DAKE well with the fine weather. The fruit of a YAMABOHSHI(Japanese dogwood = cornel) was coloring. Therefore we divided it each other with birds and monkeys.

WAKEN became able to stand when he caught a table. However, his waist is staggering and he is unstable yet. He has come to be eaten various food. His favorite food is noodle especially. He opens the mouth from a self and comes near.
　 　
November 9
WAKEN's tooth of the top began to grow and became able to bite even a hard food. He became able to walk when he caught a table. As for this photograph he is beating stainless steel-tray as a drum.

He sometimes grinds his teeth and bites something, because his gums are itchy. He does the training that cleans a tooth because it does not make a bad tooth.
